Sounds of Films
I chose to look at the sounds from a scene in fury, which is of a battle between three american light tanks and one german heavy tank.
The dialogue in this scene was very shouty to give the emotion that it is a very intense and worrying scene.
The music was also very prominent in that it started off very dramatic with a choir singing and then going in to a very fast and tense mood, and when one of the fellow tanks was taken down there was sad music and then went back into intense.
There were different stages of background sound like explosions and shots being fired were very prominent but still in background, however, the tanks engines the clunking of the tracks and the levers being pulled by the characters were not prominent at all but you could still hear them, but if they Weren't there it would of seemed to be a very non realistic scene as silent tanks do not exist, but in some of the shots the background sounds come to the foreground as the shots are emphasising on the tanks movement or a shot being fired and so forth.

photo-motion ideas for project
Photo-motion: ideas for project
Where i should put my video
I could put the video on Facebook youtube and Instagram to get the most views
Instagram would be a good choice as it has a square frame and would fit the style of my video
Facebook would be good as more people would see the video
Youtube would be good as it means the video can be seen by anyone

Silent Film Peer Assessment
Silent Film Peer Assessment
I looked at Matt's Silent Film which I thought was very good, however, he had text in between some scenes which was not up long enough for me to read, which was not a big deal as the rest of the film was exaggerated enough and did its job that it did not really need the text. I also liked the music to the film as it matched the speed or the footage.
I feel that it is very important that we criticize constructively on others work, so that they can progress and become better at there craft. Also i feel that it is good to receive the criticism as it means that i can improve.

silent film brainstorming
Silent Film Project
Coming up with ideas
We first brainstormed some ideas of what we could do in our video. But the one we decided on was that a student would walk in to college and go to have something from the vending machine. However the vending machine does not work so our character lost his money with out anything from the machine. At which then he would give up and walk a way, then another person comes up to the machine and notices that there is something in the bottom of the machine. It was the food that the first character wanted.
The Criteria of the video was:
- it had to be black and white
- there had to be no sound
- that all the shots were still
We also decided to speed up the video as it gave the feel of a silent film like the ones that Charlie Chaplin was in.
Editing
I used premiere pro to edit the video.
The Editing process was fairly simple as all I did was cut the clips I had to the appropriate length, then sped up the whole video and added some text in between two of the clips.
Then I added some effects that were present in premiere which were some noise and dust effects. Then I made the whole video become black and white by changing the saturation. Finally I put some crop bars over the video to make it a similar size as the original silent films.
Here is the finished product:

my first blog
My first blog:
My first day going to Bath College has been rather interesting so far. I woke up and got ready to go. I left a bit to early for the train as i managed to almost get the train before the one i was meant to. I miss judged the amount of time that it would take me to cycle form my house to the train station, but we all make mistakes, now i know that i can leave a bit later than i thought. However i was still 30 minutes early.
