Brand drawing

Brand drawing
Today we were asked to think about what our self brand is and brain storm some ideas about our passions and personality traits. then pick six words that represent us, i chose: dedicated, gamer, Taekwondo, ambitious, adventurous and subtle.
Then we were tasked with making logos based on these words. the first one was to make it with out lifting the pencil off the page, then the next was to use Helvetica and the final one was to only be a picture/image with no text these are what i came up with.

Interactive reflection

Interactive reflection
Looking through the work that i did for my interactive lessons over the last term i am fairly pleased with what i have done, however there are some things that i wish were done better or had been done on top of what i have. These include finishing off making my animation interactive with buttons that make my character do certain things, i didn't have enough time to finish programming and setting it up though.
I was very happy with the animations that i made, my character was called Freddy the fly and i made animations of him playing which is when he does a loop in the air.

Then i made one of him eating where he drops down on to a table and eats some pooh then fly's back up.

Finally i made one of him sleeping were he drops down on to a table falls asleep then wakes up and fly's again.

Also theres the animation of him not doing anything i.e. being idle but i cant seem to find it.

Then i also did some sketch book work that i was ok about but i don't feel that is was the best of my ability when it comes to drawing and if i had more time to draw them i could make them better.

Also earlier in the term we experimented what animate to learn what the tools do and overall i feel that i know most of the way around animate and can do anything on there given enough time as i am not the best drawer, but i happy with how much i have progressed with animate and hope to have the opportunity to use it again.
Here are some of the experiments that i did on animate:
here is a bouncy ball that helped me learn the timeline and keyframes in animate.

here is a drawing of a bunch of penguins which helped me learn the drawing tools.

here is an animation of two cars racing which helped me learn motion Tweens however they weren't very successful as the wheels are not smooth and it is not exactly a race.

here is an animation of my initials which i made to teach me how to use shape Tweens i was fairly pleased with it.

here is the first animation i made of Freddy the fly when i was still deciding whether or not i was going to use him, it is of him waiting or being idle.

It could of been smoother on the other hand as and the climax of him flying up there is a slight Jutter which i am not happy with but overall it is a good animation.

Sketch book week 2

Sketch book week 2
we were tasked with going out and drawing land marks were the famous book Frankenstein was written and then make it in to a brief map.
this is what i came up with:

Then we were tasked with drawing our own version of the monster with out it resembling other ideas.
this is what i came up with:

Sketch book week one

Sketch book week one
we were tasked with drawing an object of any size and material so i decided to draw a metal nut and a screw
here are the drawings:

Then i was tasked with drawing a cafe so i decided to draw the whole surrounding cafe.

waiting

Waiting
I was tasked to create an animation of an animal that is waiting or simply doing nothing whilst making it seem that it is alive and not just a still image.
i decided to make a fly as i thought that when it is waiting all it would be doing is flying.
here is my animation:

Christmas animations

Christmas animations
Walt Disney Silly Symphony:
I thought that the cartoon was very happy and that Santa and the elves were represented as very nice and happy people that don't get stressed around there busiest time of the year which is Christmas. I also thought that the cartoon was not to long but just the right length.

Santa Claus is coming:

I thought that this animation was funny as you see the little girl expect a grown man with a beard but in stead there was a fly thing that pooped out the presents what made it funny was seeing the girls face turn from excited and then become horrified with her shaking in bed after seeing the fly thing.

Last animation:
i thought that it was ok but the children creeped me out as they looked like the old dolls that you see in horror films. St nick though was good as it showed that he was jolly and had the intuitive to make toys out of anything.

Character Design for Animation

Character Design for Animation
I decided to draw a fly for may animation as i felt that it looked kind of cool and was fairly easy to draw. I have decided to call him Freddy the Fly. i have thought about how i can make him show expression as he has not got many facial features so i am going to use is nose/mouth and eyes to do so. for a disappointed/sad look i am going to make his nose deflated and his eyes drop a little lower. and for when he is happy i will make his nose/mouth perk up and his eyes spread further apart and up.

Learning about animates Timeline

Learning about animates Time line
The Time line in animate is fairly simple. the time line is not the actual frames but a place for the frames to be held and selected and worked on. you can make the frames in the time line big or small. the timeline also has key frames which are the points of th etimline that have been edited and the keyframes are what the pictures transition between. you can have different assets within the time line for example you can have a drawing and then have a bone skeleton that can be assigned to the drawing so it can be animated and moved.

Here is the time line:

Animation overview

Animation overview
As a whole i think that the animation process on animate is fairly hard but i do think with a bit of practise and research it could get easier. for the most part i have just been accidental animating things and they actually work but i don't know how i got to that point.

Here is a Ball i animated to bounce:

Facial Expressions

Facial Expressions
we were told to take a photo of our selves in a certain expression then to try and draw a face with said expression this is what i did.

Learning Animate

Learning Animate
First i just got used to the drawing tools and learning were they are. i was asked to draw a cat without animating it yet so this is what i drew.

Pyramid Scheme animation

Pyramid Scheme animation
The animation was very good as it was smooth and eye catching. it also got its point across about how these pyramid schemes are bad and how to avoid them. the animation was interesting enough to keep me interested which is a big thing as if it didn't then i could of missed out on some important information.

Here is an example of said pyramid schemes that i have found:

Animate

Animate
we were introduced to animate which is a software that is used to create drawings and then animate them this lesson we were asked to draw a character or thing of some sort so i drew a bear here is a screen shot.

Zero

Zero
Zero is a stop motion animation that i thought was really well made as it was smooth and had a good story/message of that nothing can become something and that there is always hope. but overall it was entertaining.
