I have been tasked with reflecting on the video i made, Phone rage.
I re-watched the video and came up with a few options I could do to make it better or at least try to. 

I first thought that the dialogue could be over dubbed in to make it clearer how ever I then thought that it would be hard to match up the audio with the movement of my mouth so I decided to not do so.

I then thought about how there is no music in the video so the next idea was to add some music in to the background of the video just to give it some emotion so I went on to YouTube's audio library and listened to a lot of songs then decided on a 'cartoony' song as I thought it would fit as I use a few cartoon sound effects.

There are some other audio techniques I could put in to my video but I feel that they are not needed as my original recording did grab most of the audio I needed. I thought of doing Foley to add in sounds of using the TV remote or getting a realistic sound of the frying pan hitting but in stead I decided not to and find a cartoon sound effect online.

For the music i put in the  background of the re edit I decided that it should be a happy funny sounding song to make the audience think that it is a joke and the contrast it makes with the aggressive angry dialogue makes it seem finnier.

Concept: I decided to make a short comedy film that could be put on Instagram or you tube and needed to be about 60 seconds. My idea came from watching my friend talk to his mum on the phone, and it was that his mum phoned him and then asked if he could do a couple of chores around the house which he said yes but wasn't too happy to do, then she asked him about his day and what he was doing later and so fourth. i could see how annoyed and frustrated he was getting from the conversation, so in my film i took the frustration to the next level by making it similar to cartoon such as Tom and Jerry or Loony Toons. 

Audio: I recorded the audio using a directional Rode mic which pics up more sound from the direction its facing rather than the background. this was important as a lot of my idea involved dialogue with a bit of background noise from the TV as that gave context to why my character was getting frustrated as all he wanted to do was watch TV in silence. I gave the film a comedic sense by adding in sound effects such as the little voice coming from the phone and some crashing for when the frying pan comes out. I got the sound effects off of a website called Freesound were people upload sounds for other people to download and use.

Footage: The filming side of the project was fairly easy as i already had the shot angles in my head. However i did have to change one as there was no way i could position the tripod and camera in the place it needed to be, but i feel like it ended up quite well. The hardest thing was matching the audio to the footage i.e. the sound effects. I used my camera which is a Canon 700D to film it on.

Where to get music for media projects:
you can get non copyrighted music from lots of places but most have the website name said in the background which can make them unusable so the best way to get music is to ask the artist if you may use there music or too use the free music that is in the youtube editor which is easier and they have a wide range of different types of music.
there are also lots of websites that you pay a subscription to use any of the music on the website as long as you link your subscription in the description however they are costly.
there are also youtube channels dedicated to non copyright music that you can use as long as you link the channel and song.

Impact of Audio in film:However modern cinema is completely the opposite as it uses sound in a lot of different ways from telling a story to make the viewer feel something. story telling can come from just speaking over the images and telling the story to making the scene feel like it was right were the viewer is, by recreating the sounds that would of happened in the real world. You can make some one fell differently about a scene by the use of music as if you had very intense music they might feel that the scene was fast and worrying or if they put classical music to it they might think that it is romantic.

I first came up with some ideas. the first one I came up with was of me floating in mid air then I was told that it had to be about me so I then came up with the idea of my phone magically going through photos of me which in the end I did not do. I then thought that I could make it look like the ear phones untangled them selves and then went through my music on my phone, how ever in the end I adjusted this idea and included me untangling them and me swiping through the music as it was much easier too do on the short time scale I had.

When it came to taking the shots I decided to use my desk as a back drop and had my camera focused just in front of the desk as that was were the ear phones and the phone would be. I set my camera to do multi shots on a timer that gave me time to get in to position and the frame everything. in total I ended up with about 145 photos to animate in to a sequence.

Then I edited the video and made it the right time scale so it did not go too fast. I added some sounds that I got online to give it a kind of cartoony feel and I added music too match the song that was shown on the sequence. I also added some text at the end to finish the video and to say thanks for watching.

over all I am quite pleased with how the video came out and I think next time I will take more shots to make it seem more fluid and at some points the video did feel like the frames did not match.

Where i should put my video
I could put the video on Facebook youtube and Instagram to get the most views

Instagram would be a good choice as it has a square frame and would fit the style of my video

Facebook would be good as more people would see the video

Youtube would be good as it means the video can be seen by anyone
