Christmas animations
Christmas animations
Walt Disney Silly Symphony:
I thought that the cartoon was very happy and that Santa and the elves were represented as very nice and happy people that don't get stressed around there busiest time of the year which is Christmas. I also thought that the cartoon was not to long but just the right length.
Santa Claus is coming:
I thought that this animation was funny as you see the little girl expect a grown man with a beard but in stead there was a fly thing that pooped out the presents what made it funny was seeing the girls face turn from excited and then become horrified with her shaking in bed after seeing the fly thing.
Last animation:
i thought that it was ok but the children creeped me out as they looked like the old dolls that you see in horror films. St nick though was good as it showed that he was jolly and had the intuitive to make toys out of anything.

PHONE RAGE! How i made it?
PHONE RAGE! How i made it?
Concept: I decided to make a short comedy film that could be put on Instagram or you tube and needed to be about 60 seconds. My idea came from watching my friend talk to his mum on the phone, and it was that his mum phoned him and then asked if he could do a couple of chores around the house which he said yes but wasn't too happy to do, then she asked him about his day and what he was doing later and so fourth. i could see how annoyed and frustrated he was getting from the conversation, so in my film i took the frustration to the next level by making it similar to cartoon such as Tom and Jerry or Loony Toons.
Audio: I recorded the audio using a directional Rode mic which pics up more sound from the direction its facing rather than the background. this was important as a lot of my idea involved dialogue with a bit of background noise from the TV as that gave context to why my character was getting frustrated as all he wanted to do was watch TV in silence. I gave the film a comedic sense by adding in sound effects such as the little voice coming from the phone and some crashing for when the frying pan comes out. I got the sound effects off of a website called Freesound were people upload sounds for other people to download and use.
Footage: The filming side of the project was fairly easy as i already had the shot angles in my head. However i did have to change one as there was no way i could position the tripod and camera in the place it needed to be, but i feel like it ended up quite well. The hardest thing was matching the audio to the footage i.e. the sound effects. I used my camera which is a Canon 700D to film it on.

Character Back Story
Character Back Story
I looked at Leonardo Dicaprio in the Revenant for an example.
In the Revenant we don't get much in the way of character progression in a literal form most of it is hidden within expressions and reactions to things that happen. We get the feeling that he is loyal and honest with a history that is frowned upon his fellow workers as we learn that he has a half native and half white American son which is not accepted by some of his associates. then later on in the film we find out that his wife/partner was killed by a raiding of an Indian camp, giving him seem very dark and there fore quiet.

I then looked at Tom Hardy's character in the Revenant also. His character seems very selfish and is very concerned about being killed so he is always on edge then after he has abandoned Dicaprio and his son he then is on edge from being found out about what he has done. we have no real idea of what his past is but we can assume that he has been done over by Indians before at which struggles to trust them and anyone for that matter.

Character Design for Animation
Character Design for Animation
I decided to draw a fly for may animation as i felt that it looked kind of cool and was fairly easy to draw. I have decided to call him Freddy the Fly. i have thought about how i can make him show expression as he has not got many facial features so i am going to use is nose/mouth and eyes to do so. for a disappointed/sad look i am going to make his nose deflated and his eyes drop a little lower. and for when he is happy i will make his nose/mouth perk up and his eyes spread further apart and up.
